During the winter months, a winding system of cross-country ski trails lets you take in the park's winter beauty.

Residents of Rockford also have fast and easy access to health care. Physicians, from general practitioners to all types of specialists, practice here and there are three major hospitals: Swedish American Hospital, Mercyhealth Hospital, and OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center; which is designated a Level 1 Trauma Center in Illinois.
